On April 22, 2000, a half-billion people around the world will take part in the biggest, most important Earth Day ever. Massive Earth Day events will take place in every time zone on the planet in cities such as New York, London, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Seattle, Tel Aviv and Manila, creating a continuous, 24-hour global Earth Day celebration.It’s a great honor for me to be the Chair of EarthFair 2000 in Washington D.C. Hundreds of thousands of people will rally on the Mall to show support for the shift to clean energy we have to make if we’re going to stop global warming.
We’re going to send a message that politicians and corporations can’t ignore – if we care about our future, we have to start using cleaner energy now.
